New Zealand Rugby have officially confirmed that All Blacks head coach Ian Foster will remain in his position until the 2023 World Cup despite a recent poor run of results.

The 57-year-old stays in charge for the All Blacks’ next home Test, against Argentina in Christchurch on 27 August, and will coach New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup in France in September 2023.

Stewart Mitchell, chairman of New Zealand Rugby, said the board had faith in Foster despite the All Blacks losing three of five Test matches so far this year, triggering calls from fans and media for him to be sacked. “It’s clearly been a difficult time, the start of the campaign we didn’t get what we wanted against Ireland and that created a lot of performance stress,” Foster said.

No suprise at all - just the rumour mongers upset

Rassie is absolute brilliant Lost on purpose to keep Foster in the job. I saw this a mile away 🤣🤣🤣

until he loses 3 in a row 🤣🤣🤣

Congrats to Nienaber & RassieRugby for keeping him employed, Boks will reap the rewards come World Cup 2023!

Coach Jacque's naïve changes saved Foster's job. The Ellis Park test was South Africa's to loose. Performance slump or not one should NEVER EVER disrespect ANY All Blacks side. You show up with your very best locked and loaded or you will pay the ultimate price. ssrugby
