Former Chiefs star Mendu invites keen walkers to join him on Youth Day

Through his Jabulani Mendu Foundation, the erstwhile Kaizer Chiefs player has organised a walk in his home town Vosloorus to mark this Youth Day.The idea is to engage as we walk – to share the history of Youth Day with the young ones who have no idea about the significance of June 16. So part of it is educationMendu said that proceeds from the event would go to two local institutions – a school for the deaf and blind, as well as a safe home for abused women and children.

“The first edition of this walk was supposed to have taken place last year, but we had to postpone due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I am glad that the event is finally happening because it is open to the young, the old, the fittest and the unfit...”
