Former Supersport International Holdings chief executive officer, Happy Ntshingila, is among the five candidates that have been shortlisted to take over the Safa CEO post, on a permanent basis

Others are the current acting CEO Tebogo Motlanthe, Safa national executive members Mxolisi Sibam and Mzwandile Maforvane, as well as former Banyana Banyana player Lydia Monyepao.Safa has not had a permanent accounting officer since Dennis Mumble’s contract was not renewed in September 2018.

Mokoena had replaced another acting CEO, Russell Paul, who taken up a tournament director’s role with the 2022 Qatar World Cup in November last year.Meanwhile, Ntshingila comes in with impressive credentials for the CEO’s role. The renowned advertising guru was key to the discussions of the then landmark R500 million sponsorship the PSL signed with banking firm Absa over a decade ago.

Maforvane is currently the acting general manager of football business, while he also chairs the Safa media, commercial, marketing and television advisory committee.in terms of the timelines, he said the successful candidate should be known “by beginning of December”.
