Covid-19 affords an opportunity to devise plans that drive the empowerment of women and level the gender playing field, writes Punki Modise

Faced with the dire prospects of World War 2, Winston Churchill saw a rare opportunity to do things differently when he warned: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

Similarly, we have to wonder whether we are not wasting a good crisis during this difficult period. What is the low-hanging fruit and long-term benefit for women? It was intended to rebuild the economies and spirits of western Europe in the aftermath of World War 2. Common cause, which has been fostered by Covid-19, has to be taken full advantage of to forge the gender-parity plan.
