Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has taken another swipe at Kaizer Chiefs suggesting they are weaker opponents compared to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Broos is known for his controversial statements to the media and he has just tipped Sundowns to win their seventh DStv Premiership title. in a rowBroos said Sundowns can win the league and challenge for CAF Champions League but losing it in the semi-final was because local clubs don’t offer good competition for Masandawana.

When I see Chiefs and Pirates, they normally have to be the biggest opponent and this is not what we expect from those teams. So yes, the quality of the PSL has not increased. It has stayed the same.

“Sundowns are dominating and others are trying to follow but they can’t. This is not good for South African football. It is not even good for Sundowns.”The first fixture against the Southern Africans will be played at Orlando Stadium on October 13 before travelling to face the Ivorians four days later.With Rulani Mokwena failing to reach the final of the lucrative interclub tournament, Broos now believes it’s because of a lack of competitive opponents for Sundowns.
