No Sirino for Bafana? Broos explains his stance

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos explains his stance on roping in Mamelodi Sundowns want-away star Gaston Sirino.

Broos just named his final Bafana squad to face Swaziland and Cote d’Ivoire this month but he has overlooked Sirino.Formerly in charge of Cameroon, Broos said Sirino is a talented midfielder but age is not on his side as he is now 32. In his Bafana squad, the Belgian manager Broos has included one Kaizer Chiefs player and that is midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa.“For me, it’s not important which nationality they are, it’s important that they have the South African nationality and then if it’s a good player, why shouldn’t I take him?“But for example, you talk about Sirino, but you again to a player who is 32. That means in two years he will be 34.
