Al Jama-ah’s Thapelo Amad has been elected the new executive mayor of Johannesburg.Phalatse was ousted in a motion of no confidence on Thursday. Amad was voted in with the support of an ANC-led coalition.Deputy president David Mabuza has engaged President Cyril Ramaphosa on his intentions to resign and make way for newly-elected ANC deputy president, Paul Mashatile.
