York man involved in $180K house deed theft, arrested after escaping hospital

A man is currently awaiting extradition back to York for numerous crimes, after police say he was arrested in SC last week.

According to Pennsylvania State Police York, 26-year-old Ishan Phinn escaped police custody on Apr. 30 of 2023 at around 7:10 a.m.Officers state Phinn was previously transported to York Hospital after an altercation with police, and evaded the corrections officer watching over him. PSP, announcing an arrest warrant issued and releasing information shortly after the escape, asking for the public's help in locating Phinn.

Now, authorities report that Phinn has been arrested in South Carolina as of Oct. 4, along with an alleged accomplice, Courtney Turek. The two are both facing charges relating to a theft of a house deed for a property that valued over $180K.Theft by unlawful takingTwo felony counts of identity theftOfficials say Courtney Turek is still on the run and has an active warrant out for her arrest.
