When schools and day cares closed in the spring, parents cobbled together child care. Now, as coronavirus shutdowns continue, parents are stretching budgets to come up with more formal plans.

Working parents going on six months without school or camp are about to take another hit: rising child-care costs.

Child care and its costs might seem incidental in a global pandemic, but they are integral to the economy. For individual families, higher child-care expenses can range from troublesome to financially debilitating. Rising costs divert money from other purchases or investments, and many working parents said child-care costs

The problem is that conservatives see subsidized childcare as “unnecessary spending” while liberals don't care about it because it does contribute much to their PC agenda.... the result is that parents bear the full costs!

Imagine the old days,,, your parents actually raised their kids

This is really disgraceful. I live in CO. Take a look at the numbers here. Covid cases are negligible. Statistically insignificant. Its just not a public health crisis here. And parents are still having to deal with remote learning. There is no rational explanation for this.
