Woman Killed in Lake Havasu Boat Crash ‘Loved Life'

Jennifer Martin's body was recovered from Lake Havasu Tuesday, days after a speeding boat flipped and crashed, throwing several people into the waterHundreds gathered Friday for a solemn vigil in Marina del Rey for a 31-year-old woman who died in a boat crash over the weekend in Lake Havasu.In a beachfront memorial complete with candles and white balloons, loved ones remembered Jennifer as someone who"loved life.

"Jennifer loved people, she loved life," said Cynthia Fields, her mother."We're going to miss Jennifer." Mohave County Sheriff's officials say witnesses called 911 about 8 p.m. June 10 to say several people were thrown into the water from a 35-foot twin-motor boat. People on another boat rescued some of the victims, including an unconscious man who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. He was identified by sheriff's officials as 51-year-old Bruce Buchanan of Redondo Beach, California.

Sheriff's officials said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. The driver of the boat was cooperating with authorities.
