Stella Moris, Julian Assange's partner, poses holding his media card.Several dozen Assange supporters, including fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, gathered outside the courtroom ahead of the hearing, with many holding"Don't extradite Assange" banners.

U.K.'s National Union of Journalists renewed its call on Monday for the British government to dismiss the extradition request. "If this extradition is allowed, it will send a clear signal that journalists and publishers are at risk whenever their work discomforts the United States government," a statement from the union said."Media freedom the world over will take a significant backward step if Assange is forced to face these charges at the behest of a U.S. president."

The judge is expected to take weeks or even months to consider her verdict, with the losing side likely to appeal. The case comes at a delicate time for transatlantic relations as the U.K. is keen to strike a post-Brexit trade deal with U.S. after leaving the European Union.Yuliya Talmazan is a London-based journalist.Michele Neubert is a London-based producer for NBC News. Trump will pardon him.

If Julian is extradited to the USA the Trump supporters can be reassured that Barr and Trump will give him a pass and who knows, Trump will probably give him the metal of freedom award. In honoring him for helping to tear the USA apart.

Because he shared the trurh with the world now they want to hang him Henchmen have something to hide what is it exactly

Terrorist to be released after short stay in prison , woman murderer & child abuser to get freedom counting 2 to 5 years as time in jail then released yet our polotians from all sides leave an Aussie to rot in prison anyone remember a man who trained with terrorist now free .

DOJ is going to abort this after some credibility-seeking burlesque. they have no reason to want Assange in the US, and certainly not in a US court.

HC_Richardson Lock him up already !

He looks like Dahmer.

Trump will just pardon him. Leave him in Europe a while longer. cnnbrk

Trump will pardon?

All that I recall from Assange was his statement that if Donald Trump was elected president that he (Assange) would return to the United States. Still waiting~George~

he should just come to US..Trump plans to pardon him anyway..so the truth might as well just play out.

Julian

Oh Trump just wants to put him in the same jail that Epstein was in and have him murdered like they did Epstein. Assange can take Trump down in a second. Like Epstein could take him down. Margo Fart-Go was a breeding ground for Epstein and Trump.
