Why is the mainstream media so agitated about President Donald Trump’s close relationship with Fox News host Sean Hannity? A right-wing critic emails with a taunt: “Everybody loved it when Bradlee and Kennedy were in bed together.”New Yorkerof the president’s symbiotic relationship with Fox News arresting—Trump and Hannity supposedly talk off-the-record nearly every night after his show, among other evidence amassed by writer Jane Mayer—but I’m not especially worked up about it.
The media figures Trump talks to informally go beyond his well-documented phone calls with sympathetic commentators like Hannity and Lou Dobbs.
The main theme of presidential conversations, of course, is not social frivolities but the same subject that animates Trump on Twitter and in public remarks: what a great job he believes he is doing, and his conviction that he is not getting enough credit. “He wants to interact with reporters,” Baker said. “He loves the press and hates the press at the same time. … He can’t stop himself from wanting to engage.”
Whatever the motive, Trump is at least partially reversing a historic trend that has been at work for five decades. In his 1975 book, "," Bradlee described frequent dinners with JFK while serving as Washington bureau chief of, conversing with him after prime-time news conferences about how the performance had gone and trading appraisals of other reporters and hearing Kennedy’s advice about who Bradlee should try to hire.
Easy now boys. Eeeeeasy.
Someone wanted them both assassinated
Definitely NOT. JFK was straight up honest. Trump is just a liar.
He’s brain dead too?
Same reason he has someone else fire people , He's just nice to your face
Poor comparison, but this is Politico. We’ve come to expect this from their type of journalism.
Wow, trying to make a connection between Trump and Kennedy! Hey, the rubber band only stretches so far...
Político, who wrote this stupidity Behind the scenes trump is plotting with Putin and/ or his most darkest cabinets members. His “interactions” with reporters means lies and insults. Hannity is NOT a reporter.
Gosh- what hilarious analysis.
Correction Politico: Trump has the most interaction with entertainment hosts. Hannity is not a journalist.
please
Spending time on the phone each night talking with Sean Hannity or Lou Dobbs does not really count as journalistic access to the president.
the lady in the middle is not Jackie O
Hard to believe
What the hell is happening to Politico? I don’t think it’s a trusted source anymore. At least we still have ProPublica
Don't even put the 2 in the same sentence let alone same category! Blasphemous
Trump lives for publicity and doesn’t care what he has to do to get it. As a result he has hurt millions.
Whoever wrote this is delusional, misinformed, and needs to be watched. How anyone can write this is why freedom of the press is so important and applies to everyone regardless of them being retarded or not.
Wth!?
Most informal is believable. Most sustained personal interactions? Does that mean the relentless attacks on a personal level of select as well as grouped journalists? Maybe. But that is a big spin to try to make that sound positive!
Meaning he’s trying to likable 🤢🤮
No. FoxNews is not a legitimate news network. Hannity is not a journalist. You CANNOT rehabilitate Trump. He has always been beyond redemption. You besmirch JFK by attempting to equate Trump to him and you insult our intelligence.
Backstorymom1 Who cares about having a “sustained” interaction of the person you’re interacting with lies CONSTANTLY.
GTFOH!
I used to come home from school & watch JFK’s press conferences with my Mom, they were smart, interesting & humorous. Trump is NOTHING like JFK & stop insulting his memory!!!!!
Politico is monumental garbage.
🤔🙄🤭🤦🏼♀️
Normally I would say let's read the piece before jumping to conclusions, but in this case the title let's you know exactly how little value there is in actually reading the article.
Politico--stop writing CRAP like this--JFK was not Bipolar Donald..
I am not reading the Politico article, but what is this, an attempt to 'whiten up' Donald Trump?
Just hope he can bring down the Fed, the banksters, the media, Pedowood, and the rest of the communist stooges in government without getting killed!
So it is a question between formal and informal meetings. Is there a strategic significance? I just think that Trump likes the attention and doesn’t trust anyone but himself. There is no comparison between him and JFK. Kennedy was more cordial.
InsHannity is not a journalist
Trump’s ego and need for attention are the reason for his “relationship” with the press. He values & respects no one. Trump has no morals, ethics, respect for the law or the office.
Who wrote this? How young?
Ok. I’m out. Bye politico.
And so Harris is saying that because Trump coddles the egos & pals around w/ the political press, that explains why they're so seemingly eager to normalize him? After all, he's just a guy w/ a big personality. They've seen his type before. Jeez, talk about living in a bubble.
Are you serious? wow, time to follow this page you just dont get it trump is Nothing like JFK JFK was HONORABLE
Pity that Trump will never be seen near any place that hold books.
JFK aided the civil rights movement. Domestically he wasn't ideologically motivated to the point of Trump. He wanted to be known for international politics, and then Bay of Pigs. Robert Kennedy was JFK's domestic philosophy. The exact opposite of Trump, he followed MLK JR.
Delete your account.
He only interacts for attention and to spin truths and only with Fox. NEVER COMPARE TRUMP TO JFK!
And says really bizarre stuff that doesn't make any sense. This is weird and it's not good...
That’s nice for fucking journalists I guess?
