Whole Foods, Sam's Club, Costco, Target and Kroger are part of a growing list of retailers in the United States that have implemented mask policies for all customers -- even in locales where masks are not mandated -- based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .
"Our advice has been to be consistent. Masks are something we can actively do to protect employees. Early in the pandemic you saw many retailers supplying masks to protect employees and, most recently, mandating that customers wear masks," Devitt said."It's good business sense to take action to protect your team, your customers and your business partners."
Knapp also said that the buy-in on mask requirements is largely dependent on where people live and the regional pressures around them. A sign listing new guidelines for social distancing, face coverings, and reusable bags is displayed in front of a Trader Joe's amid the coronavirus pandemic, April 24, 2020, in New York."Employers are in a hard spot here trying to do the right thing. Yes, these businesses are personal or private property -- in most cases -- and you have that you have to balance against customer service," he said.
"It is now accepted science that it is best for all of us to share in the responsibility for wearing masks," he said, adding that they urge restaurants to follow the National Restaurant Association's Reopening Guidance in conjunction with national and local officials."We ask all of our customers to help us keep our employees and their fellow diners safe by following all existing state and local guidelines on masks.
Good idea people should wear masks without any force Personal responsibility
We all need to take our business elsewhere
Companies in my area had gone lax but this past week they all ramped up again.
If it makes you feel better 😉
However certain companies are not allowing employees to actually mandate customers wear them if they saw they have a medical condition.
You can advise but you can't force and it's a sue-able thing. SueForForcingMasks, employees especially.
you know these businesses are just making my shit look bad and actual communism look better for this country. Communacracy is a democracy that more focused on the community which I'm also considering the whole country one community.
This should be given that no one should enter a grocery store without a damn mask.
It will end soon no worries. Give it until the vaccine is here beginning 2021 and we will put this behind us
No.
Who would have thought that the corporations would have to take the lead on keeping the American public safe
Ha, ha, new normal...'gonna save the environment, oh wait have to use plastic bags so don't get virus...but the environment...but virus...' (they all short circuit & walk in circles while mumbling to themselves). Do value environment but that's funny.
It will become the new norm in australia even after covid19. As in asian major capital cities with high density living, if you feel unwell, you wear a mask out of politeness.
Good
I will not enter ANY place of business that does not require a mask and will remember those who don't long after this nightmare is over !!!
Why are these businesses posting the 'wear a mask' signs and then not enforcing these policies? I see so many people walking around without them.
Maybe they should just sell hydroxychloroquin
we are the UNITEDstates on the big issues.
