On tasting the vodka plain, senior cooking editor Emma Laperruque compared its taste to strong, melon-y sake, and senior test kitchen editor Jesse Szewczyk said his sip was “incredibly smooth.” Although everyone agreed the vodka on its own smelled a bit like acetone, recipe production assistant Carly Westerfield was pleased at the way Grey Goose’s round flavor and clean finish fared in the martini. “This is so much better than I thought it would be,” she said happily.
