In recording their lowest scoring game of the season, the Spurs trailed by as many as 41 points in the fourth period. The Spurs came into the game well-rested after two days without practice after beating Milwaukee on Friday.Playing without point guard Tre Jones and backup guard Romeo Langford , the Spurs finished with a season-low 18 assists after entering the game leading the NBA with a 29.3 average.
Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 15 points after entering the game averaging a team-best 23.6 per game. Devin Vassell, who came in averaging 21.0, finished with a season-low six.The Spurs trailed 61-45 at the break after scoring just 19 points in the second quarter. It was their lowest scoring output in a half this season.They missed 16 of 20 from 3-point range in the first half and had just eight assists on 18 makes. Johnson went into intermission with just four points.
The Spurs play at Portland on Tuesday night before moving on to Sacramento face the Kings on Thursday. They conclude their five-game west coast trip with a pair of back-to-back games in Los Angeles against the Clippers and the Lakers.
