Workers at the short-staffed Brandywine and Boston Mills ski resorts, and at Vail Resorts across the country, will now get a $2-an-hour bonus if they work the full season.

All hourly workers at Vail Resorts will get a $2 per hour bonus for all hours worked between Jan. 1 and April 15. David Petkiewicz, cleveland.comBOSTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

“Many of you have had to carry an extra burden this season,” Lynch wrote in the announcement. “Staffing was always going to be tight given the global labor shortage, but the acceleration of omicron, late snow, and many other factors created particularly challenging impacts for our operations teams.” Originally only Boston Mills opened last week, but Brandywine and Alpine Valley will follow this Friday, though with limited hours at all three resorts. Boston Mills will also be closed on Martin Luther King Day, this upcoming Monday.

Still not enough, $2x 20hours weekly=$40, or just ask mom & dad for $20 each and do something better (study, socialize, etc etc) with those 20hours 🤔

Won’t go there anyway with their stupid Covid vax rule

Vail Resorts will open Brandywine, Alpine Valley on Friday; reduce days at Boston MillsBoston Mills opened daily last week with limited hours due to staffing shortages. Those hours and days of operation will change as Vail opens its other two Greater Cleveland locations for the season, the company announced on its website and social media. I heard it's because they won't hire non vaccinated people. But that is rumor.

Park City ski patrol union overwhelmingly votes to authorize a strike if negotiations fail with Vail ResortsNearly the entirety of the Park City ski patrol union has voted to strike if negotiations with Vail Resorts fail. The 98% support, said union business manager Patrick Murphy, is “about as strong a message as we can send.” Notsafe Did I read that right? They are the LOWEST paid VailResorts employees in all of park city? The liftees, food staff, ticket counter are paid more than patrol?! VailResorts should be embarrassed and offer a bonus to them for even sticking around. Shameful liftblog alexnpress

Park City ski patrol union overwhelmingly votes to authorize a strike if negotiations fail with Vail ResortsIn a secret ballot vote, 98% of union members said they were prepared to stop work if necessary. One of Utahs greatest assets is being managed into the ground. The State, City or a local leader should buy back the operation and take it out of the hands of GREEDY Vail corp. Most, or all, of Park City — Utah’s largest ski resort by acreage — would likely shut down in the event of a strike. Something the union acknowledges. They deserve better wages. The ski industry is a multi million dollar industry. Step up Park City.

San Francisco reducing COVID testing hours because of staff shortagesThe decision comes despite warnings from experts about the importance of COVID testing to keep up with the surge of the highly transmissible omicron variant.
