alum Utkarsh Ambudkar has nabbed the male lead in the single-camera comedy pilot from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman.
Based on the British series, the comedy revolves around a struggling young couple whose dreams come true when they inherit a beautiful country house — only to find it’s both falling apart and inhabited by many of the deceased previous residents. Ambudkar will play the husband, a modern dude with a love of nerdom and a talented chef. He stars oppositealum Rose McIver, who will portray Samantha, a freelance journalist and put-together Type-A personality who loves fun — though not as much as she loves planning to have it. Brando Scott Jones co-stars as Isaac, a long-winded Militiaman and statesman who died in the late 1700s of dysentery.
