Given that this kind of seastead is basically just pirate bait things could be WAY, WAY worse. Having the government of Thailand after you is probably the down a ways on the list of worst possible things that could happen to you.

He lives Minecraft in real life

This is insane. Thailand has no right to do this.

Ok but the house design sucks. No windows?

And dis y seasteading no work

The man made clear in interviews that it was a movement and there were plans of others joining them to build a society. There’s where trouble begun.

what did 'Today' Host Hoda Kotb announce this week?

Dangerous criminals have it easy in blue-state America. Murder, rape, molestation, and egregious/extreme acts of violence gets you three hots, a cot, TV, medical care; and in some cases Internet access, health club, college classes, etc. Too bad that the roles weren't reversed.

...this is The Onion. Is this The Onion? This had to have come from the onion.

In principle I am against the death penalty, but...

People are nuts.

That doesn't look safe.

It doesn't look mobile, so is it now an island? If the Thai government wants to go out there and arrest them, I am not sure if the couple has an army or police force to stop them.

Are they the ones who were working with the Russians against our election!

He was mining monero

Say him not to destroy his private key, and donate it to charity.

That isn't high enough to be out of danger from high seas. All though you would go stir crazy after a couple days anyway.

phucket, live somewhere else...

Run

They should just label themselves undocumented residents. That excuses any breach of sovereignty, I've heard.

Is this an inadvertent Onion post?

Guess they should have asked for permission. 🤷‍♂️

How did he do that?

You live like tough immigration law is not your concern, and then one day.......

This is tattoo art age, ar apps to do virtual dynamic colorful split second dense moments in life using AR estasy art

Isn't the international law for a country's sea territory only 7 miles out from shore?

Is this a real headline

Ridiculous

H INCLUDING U AM REAL.

That seems rational.

Damn they really got a map, put their finger on a random place and just said 'phucket'

INSTEAD OF NOT ANOTHER FUCK OVER NOT ANOTHER UPSET(ABOUT GAMES)

Ah, Phuket

they said Phuket... we're out

Some rich folks are just stupid

How them living there threatening the sovereignty of Thailand?

Behead these crackas

Thailand should say Phuket and let them go

Thai navy boards cabin of fugitive 'seasteaders' facing death penalty'I was free for a moment. Probably the freest person in the world,' Chad Elwartowski posted on his Facebook days before the Thai navy raided his floating home. Totally BS. International law only allows for about 12 miles of sovereignty. This is the lamest cyberpunk dystopia I've ever seen It’s remarkable how much his “freedom” looks like a jail cell.

Thailand says US man's seasteading home violates sovereigntyThailand's navy raided a floating home belonging to an American and his Thai partner who sought to be 'seasteading' pioneers. The movement promotes living in international waters free of any nation's laws. Looks like they forgot that even the smallest of settlements need a little army... and weapons for defense. 🙂🙂 Thailand seems a little aggressive in this action, death? I feel this is extreme if all they were doing is minding there on business, but hey, it’s their rules, their country. Wow what would they do to those crossing our borders illegally? Incredible you try to find a little space to call your own and someone wants to kill you for it!
