BANGKOK - A senior Thai government official on Friday urged a U.S. man and a Thai woman on the run from a possible death sentence for building an off-shore “sea home” to fight the charge in court.

“Thailand will proceed with everything according to the law. We are not threatening them,” Supoj said. The group said in a statement the home was in a so-called contiguous zone of 12-24 nautical miles, where very limited Thai regulations applied, and they had no intention of setting up any independent state or “micro nation”.

A nation’s sovereignty extends only 12 nautical miles from its low water line. The nation is further empowered to exploit resources up to 200km out. Nothing else as far as I understand.

Or just roll over and be dead . . . .really?

What a barbaric regime!

That doesn't make sense

Why does that country have the crappiest rules and the death penalty for everything?

Thats a lie

Why do you people selectively post photos of the suspect? I wonder if their is a motive to this.

Thailand says US man's seasteading home violates sovereigntyThailand's navy raided a floating home belonging to an American and his Thai partner who sought to be 'seasteading' pioneers. The movement promotes living in international waters free of any nation's laws. Looks like they forgot that even the smallest of settlements need a little army... and weapons for defense. 🙂🙂 Thailand seems a little aggressive in this action, death? I feel this is extreme if all they were doing is minding there on business, but hey, it’s their rules, their country. Wow what would they do to those crossing our borders illegally? Incredible you try to find a little space to call your own and someone wants to kill you for it!

A diver who helped rescue the Thai soccer team was just saved from an underwater cave in TennesseeJosh Bratchley had no food or water. No one knew if he was alive or dead, if he had found an air pocket or drowned in the murky water. Was he saved by a Thai boy? There are many things I can’t imagine ever doing, and going into a cave of this nature is near the top of the list. I’m glad it all worked out and the best part of the story was reading them rescued diver’s conversation upon being discovered.
