Dr. Thaer Ahmad is a volunteer and board member at Medglobal, an organization that provides medical aid to vulnerable populations worldwide — including Gaza.
Since the latest conflict began, the Chicago-area nonprofit has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for humanitarian aid in Gaza and has delivered over 60,000 liters of fuel to 11 hospitals across the Gaza Strip to keep the lights on."We want the doctors to be equipped to be able to do surgery on people who have injuries from the trauma, and we want the doctors to be able to give antibiotics to people who have infections ravaging their bodies," said Ahmad.
"What they're describing are people on the side of the building, on the floor, agonizing in pain, wounded, you know, hurt. And so, you know, it sounds like chaos," said Ahmad.
