Over the next decade the entire UC system will degrade, they will pump out subpar students, and employers won't respect degrees from those schools.

The judge that ruled on this is a genius. Now under qualified students will pay tuition for a few semesters before dropping out without a diploma. Think of the revenue!
Standardized tests are biased against stupidity regardless of race, color, or creed.
I am really glad for this ruling! Its important. I for one would like to see other colleges stop using these tests that do put the poor and those with disabilities at a disadvantage. And don't me if you haven't read the article in it's entirety pls

If you get admitted and you aren't up to standards to keep up with the curriculum, you will be forced to take remedial classes until you get to an acceptable standard level. None of those remedial credits will count towards a degree btw.

Extremely bad for prospective students. While these scores shouldn't be the only thing used for decisions, they are a great predictor of student outcomes.
Because it embarrasses minorities because they consistently score lower than Asians and whites. Glad we now reward mediocrity and punish excellence.
Wow. Theres no need for competition when everyone gets a trophy. The UC system and others that follow suit will bankrupt themselves. There needs to be a standard. Not against accommodating those with disabilities but give them tools to reach the standard don’t lower for everyone.

All placement test should be voided n removed as it benefits no one other than the investors that profit from States mandating these useless exams. Placement Test is a silent profit market.
So glad we've given up on any sort of standards. Teachers don't have to perform and the UC system and can skim money off the completely incapable. What a perfect storm.

The government to decide what you did or did not learn so there is no sense to working hard and racism? College is over. Trade schools future: doctors, dentists, veterinary, pharmacy, surgeon, lawyers... You get the point. Merit based college is over.
My college Minnesota State University-Moorhead did this months ago without a court order....
But then how are those disadvantages going to be accounted for in the classroom after they are accepted into college?
