Thirteen years after the death of Sen. Ted Stevens, his story has made its way to the Cyrano’s Theatre Company stage in a one-man show titled “Uncle Ted.”

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sen. Ted Stevens, Alaska’s longest serving U.S. Senator, made his way to the Senate floor in 1968.

Although they share the same last name, Stevens is not related to the late senator. However, Gary Stevens knew Ted Stevens well enough to feel inspired to write something to commemorate him. Stevens recalled how the senator received his nickname “Uncle Ted,” which he decided would be the title of his play.

The actor portraying Sen. Ted Stevens — Dan Morrison from Lake Tahoe, California — traveled to Anchorage to take the job.
