SIMI VALLEY, California — A stand-out moment during the second Republican presidential debate was between the two candidates from South Carolina. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is now responding to the shouting match.

Scott and Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley got into an argument over curtains and gas taxes on the debate stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. When asked what he thought of the candidates talking over each other and his comments with Haley, Scott said it was still better than the “food fight” from the last debate.“Last time was just a food fight, and what's good about a food fight?” Scott said.

“I wanted to have a substantive conversation about the issues that are impacting the American people,” Scott said.
