Ministers will meet on Tuesday to sign off on the formal trade mandate document which will frame Britain’s negotiating aims, before it is published on Thursday. The EU-Canada deal, which came into force provisionally in 2017, removes most tariffs on goods traded between the two countries but does little to facilitate trade in financial services, which are very important for the UK economy.

Johnson’s office said there were not expected to be any surprises in the mandate document, which aims for a future relationship based on friendly cooperation between sovereign equals.

UK is gonna bend over and take it from behind too?

The EU is so growing to play hardball with them because they can

Canada is close to USA and doesn’t follow US court rulings nor freedom of movement, a trade deal negotiation with merging industry take longer plus had to be ratified by 28 countries and local parliaments; Flanders as an example. Demerger is faster.

Well good luck on that. Location, location, location. Oh Canada does not sit at the door steps of the EU and competes differently. Plus that deal was 7 years in the making. Last I heard BorisJohnson insists on sharpie to paper by years end, no?

So far he seems unwilling to do either And the blockades will unblock themselves What is 'native' land. This seems to me a racist article. There are only Canadians!!! He’s selling Canadian oil and pays nothing for it. Unless he pulls basic income out of his a** to the tune of 2500/month, he’s toast. That’s all there is to it. Same for whomever is President in the US for 2028. Game over. Stop stealing from your own country, Justin. Fin
