U.S. ride-hailing company Uber Technologies Inc and South Korean automaker Hyund...

) have all unveiled investments in startups that aim to deploy electric flying cars capable of vertical takeoff and landing. But there are big technological and regulatory hurdles to the plans.

Euisun Chung, Executive Vice Chairman of Hyundai, expects commercialization of urban air mobility service in 2028, saying it takes time for laws and systems to be in place. Hyundai will unveil a concept electric aircraft developed with Uber at CES, with the self-flying electric car designed to carry up to four passengers with a pilot and fly on trips of up to 60 miles .

Just look at its long wings. Very unpracticable in big cities.

I can't believe anyone thinks this will reduce traffic congestion.

What unmitigated bullshit! Lmao

hyundai stocks are going to rise.....

You like?

.

The lawyers are going to love these things.

Air taxi will take over other transportation services within next 10 years

I fail to see where the car expertise fits in here...........

Hopefully they will be battery powered or they will add another carbon footprint to the Climate Change Crisis

flying cars finally here! much better than a chopper, huh?

Wow! So many moving parts! I can't wait to not be able to afford to maintain it!

nothing can go wrong, here.

WxShaw 🚘 ✈️

so stupid. just build public transportation!

Flying cars is long overdue

It's not a car, it's just a tiltrotor aircraft. This thing doesn't seem to have the function of a car.

They still gonna drop you off at a route convenient for your pool or

Do you always have ads before your videos? I just followed you but will definitely unfollow if that's the case. Thanks

Meet George Jetson

That’s an airplane

There’s a bunch of short sellers sharpening their knives right now

hopefully mfs in the hood don't have RPGs

ParkingReview Until they explain where they are going to land and take off from its hard to take flying taxis seriously.

Well, an electric flyingCar isn’t just about the vehicle itself. What if it’s run out of energy in the air? Much more importantly, people ignore disturbance of winds(or currents)and sunlight, birds, noises, privacy and security issues, increased chances of accidents and more.

Will those pay the drivers .68 per mile too?

Instead of paying drivers a living wage, they're building flying cars 👀🏃....hard pass

this has been a concept for like, every country, for years. Tons of reasons it hasn't become mainstream. Why the fuck have they done this lol

Next stop: Wall Street

You know we already have air taxis there called helicopters and jetliners right?

What could possibly go wrong

People can’t even drive their cars correctly

And I thought blind intersections were dangerous

Hell I want that model

This is just a plane

There could be an easier solution.

🎤 Meet George Jetson ..

Because when we look up we don't want to see a beautiful blue sky & cloud animals. We want to see; urbancongestion This is no solution, it makes the problem worse.

Sooooooo everyone needs a pilot's license now too?

Out of curiosity what are the emissions of these aerial vehicles vs. ones on the ground?

No more cars, no more vehicular traffic... 😁

Ping glichfield

So when your car breaks down, instead of rolling to the side of the road... you just plummet to your death instead?

We have anti-gravity technology, leak a bit to private industry so we can have our real flying cars before we croak. disclosure

not car....just airplane

Uber has more bad news coming so they found an umpteenth company to partner with on pretend robot taxis.

The people crapping on this idea are the same people who told Henry Ford they wanted faster horses.

Can you imagine the surge pricing for this?

This is why Uber is literally hemorrhaging billions of dollars. They cannot even figure out the economics of taxis, yet we’re supposed to believe they’re going to succeed with flying cars? They’re going to need a new CEO sooner than later if this is where all the money is going

that thing looks massive i can't see it being convenient, it'd have to be car to pad to pad to car.... because theres no way that thing is landing in a wendy's parking lot.

We already have flying cars. They’re called helicopters & airplanes

So people would have to move and down out of what I assume would eventually be multiple levels of traffic, and if an accident happened or one failed, it would plummet through multiple levels of congested urban traffic to land on a car at the bottom? Sounds neat.

Cool, maybe they could also ask Hyundai how to make a profit.
