WASHINGTON - The Federal Aviation Administration said on Tuesday it will not ground the Boeing 737 MAX that has been involved in two fatal crashes since October despite a growing number of countries ordering the planes to stop flying. Acting FAA Administrator Dan Elwell said its “review shows no systemic performance issues and provides no basis to order grounding the aircraft.” He added that no foreign civil aviation authorities have “provided data to us that would warrant action.”

He added if any safety issues are identified during the ongoing “urgent review” of Sunday’s Ethiopian Airlines crash it will “take immediate and appropriate action.”

I thought that the principle of precaution was paramount in Aviation Safety ? The US FAA has lost its credibility here because if 2 air crashes had happened with 2 AIrbus aircrafts i m sure the FAA would have grounded them in the US.

We have Germanwings flight 9525 accident because the pilot decided to commit suicide. We have missing Malaysian Airlines, we also had US pilot having psychosis while flying the plane. In this day and age, everything is possible. We just need to wait for the investigation.

How much is Boeing going to pay for mirdering all those people

Well it will be interesting to see if any more go down I guess. If that happens there will be no more Boeing.

Don’t they realize that they’re taking a terrible risk at a time the rest of the world’s (even many US former pilots and aviation analysts) wariness about this jet is heightened and grounding their jets? Hardly no one makes sense of this.

It’s crazy indeed while we indeed have many European states, including the U.K., not only grounding the B737 MAX they also shut their air space for the jet. Norwegian jet was diverted mid-air because of this.

Fedral Avation knowing facts. And correct it. If third happen then it would cause the company to bankruptcy. And possible have the other 80% pay for all damages. So if not need grounded. Within 5 year period that it company would need not a chapter 11 or 13 or 22 it would force

Like all other countries , isn't it not necessary to investigate , whether the aircraft is good & fit to go for flying in sky. Hope and ensure we are not putting our people lives on risk. MinCA_GOI awcoa Ministry_CA airvistara airindiain jetairways Boeing737Max
