U.S. Executes First Federal Inmate Since 2003

The Trump administration on Tuesday morning carried out the first federal execution since 2003, after a divided Supreme Court rejected inmate claims that using pentobarbital for lethal injections would be unconstitutional.

In an unsigned opinion, the court’s five-member conservative majority sought to end the fusillade of litigation four condemned men and their allies filed since Attorney General William Barr announced plans a year ago to reactivate the federal death chamber in Terre Haute, Ind.

Of course the article fails to mention that, even if the injection was uncomfortable, he tortured his victims to death.

“Justice Sotomayor, joined by Justices Kagan and Ginsburg wrote a separate dissent to criticize the court's accelerated decision making” The murderer murdered his victims in 1999. The defense had 20 years to file & avoid “accelerated decision making” by the Court. Good riddance.

Attorneys argued that the drug used to peacefully and humanely euthanize dogs causes unnecessary pain and discomfort. Yeah, no. Also, 2 more executions this week and one more in August. Nice work, AG Barr.
