The top Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives has said it would not be productive to extend the extra unemployment benefits that were included in coronavirus relief legislation earlier this year. The benefits expire on July 31.
Republicans and Democrats have been debating how to help the country recover from the economic effects of the novel coronavirus, which led to business closures that have thrown tens of millions of Americans out of work. Democrats in the U.S. Senate, impatient with the pace of Republican deliberations on additional coronavirus aid, have proposed long-term extensions to a temporary unemployment insurance program.
Yep, if they don't grant a 13 extension you can kiss this country goodbye It will collapse. This can't turn into a pissing contest between both parties. We will all feel it and it won't matter how much money you have, there will be nothing to do with it except burn it for warmth
Compromise....words from Pelosi? She must want something really bad. Could it be that unemployment enhancement would further delay good jobs reports so the MSM can blame Trump? Or do you think she really cares about people? She didnt compromise to save DACA people, Trump did.
NOPE. Time to get back to work.
Yes
We cant just keep making money appear, we gotta restart at some point
النصر للأسد ترام بلوسي بليز كوهم وذ بايدن ان اوباما بليز؟!
NO. MORE,
Any talk about an extension of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act?
What payments?
Don’t trust her
You mean the Democrats want to reject the proposal.
People risk their lives for rent and food and the basic necessity, how to pay bill now is the question.
No way, stop the extra payments, the reason alot don't want to go to work is because they are making more doing nothing!
let's not forget stimulus checks - we need those as well, and not capped at$30K! trump spends that much on attorneys on any given week!
So, no unemployment payments because the GOP don't govern for the people.
PelosiMustGo
ObamaGate
Everyone needs help, not just those that qualify for unemployment.
3 times today?
Term limits will actually drain the swamp from both sides of the isle
Is the drunk going to for gender quotas in boardrooms again, by taking ccpvirus welfare payments hostage again?
Wish we could get the money from the people who took money and didn't need it, like the multi millionaires and corporations.
In other words; she’s going to hold unemployed hostage until she gets some BS that has nothing to do with it.
Don't hold your breath. Do Nothing Congress will do nothing. We need term limits not a bunch of third graders crying about each other.
And what are republicans afraid of?
To extend many payments/financial issues. This is one damned expensive disease and the expense is magnified ten fold because it is an election year.
“What is this, how you say, ‘compromise’?”
Nancy Pelosi needs to retire! Vote out all professional, corporate politicians!
this is ridiculous. americans on unemployment didint want to lose their jobs in the first place. theres no work for them to go back to. extend the benefits
Unemployed for ever? Welfare for ever? What about welfare to Trump's capitalist cronies? What about your Catholic Church? Catholic Girl from Baltimore now in CA? Is that to buy VP Pence from his Purgatory? What about our Evangelicals? How many trillions Girl?
They need to do it right now. Thousands upon thousands of people are facing eviction. Thousands upon thousands of jobs are not coming back! Yet Republicans have no problem giving billions of dollars in tax cuts to billionaires.
The GOP only cares about the rich, the racists, and the Russians.
'Needs to compromise' usually just means 'Democrats need to fold to Republican demands' on things like this.
they’re working on compromise while people suffer, but they don’t suffer
you won't open business up what do you expect?
