Trump says he won't exempt Apple's Mac Pro parts from China tariffs

Trump tweeted Friday that he will refuse to exempt the company from paying tariffs on parts for the new Mac Pro, which Apple will reportedly assemble in China. Final assembly of the current version of the Mac Pro takes place in Texas.Apple will not be given Tariff waiver, or relief, for Mac Pro parts that are made in China. Make them in the USA, no Tariffs!

Tariff waivers are a de facto system of political bribery. Apple would get an exception if Tim Cook was sufficiently obsequious, or if there were donations being made.

That to me signals that the Mac Pro assembly plant in Texas can get ready for layoffs.
