As the United States reached the grim milestone of 100,000 coronavirus deaths, the economy is in shambles, and the gruesome killing of another unarmed black man by police sows unrest in a major American city,’s biggest priority appears to be hitting back at social media companies so he can continue to spread misinformation.
The president, who has used Twitter to spread lies, conspiracy theories, and hate speech unchecked for years, is expected to retaliate against the company on Thursday after it finally fact-checked a couple of his bogus tweets. In what he iswill be a “Big Day for Social Media and FAIRNESS,” Trump is preparing to sign an executive order aimed at rolling back legal protections for platforms that limit their liability for what users post.
