Hours after the U.S. Department of Defense revealed that Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer had been asked to resign by Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper on Sunday, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to assert that Spencer's firing was due to his alleged poor handling of Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher's trial.

Gallagher, a Chief Petty Officer, was found guilty and acquitted of posing with the body of a dead foreign prisoner.

Why doesn't Trump just pardon him since he pardons all thugs and criminals

Treason.

Confirms! ridiculous

How about the dead ISIS soldier desecrated body, how about the uniform code of military justice violations, very badly treated? But a DRAFTDODGER wouldn’t have any idea about such things, and to ignorant to want to find out. realDonaldTrump

Well good I am glad Richard Spencer got fired, finally

Trump is an awful president and an even worse Commander in Chief. But what do you expect from a no political and no military background.

TRUMP'S SYSTEMATICALLY REPLACING PEOPLE WITH INTEGRITY WITH UNETHICAL SYCOPHANTS WHO WILL DO HIS BIDDING HOWEVER DISGUSTING IT IS.

USNavy secnav76 this can explain realDonaldTrump

Trump always sides with the criminals.

Tragedy that a person could be deployed so many times they would embrace war criminal activity. He made him a pawn and turned this into a sick game. A cowardly draft dodger. He really is the sick war criminal. He needs help, Trump needs jail; we need life without memory of Trump.

The military prosecution did violate a significant numbers of UCMJ, but it should have been a mistrial not an outright acquittal.

I figured he wouldn't be able to resist showing who's in charge.

Alternative: President begins purging military of those who oppose war crimes.
