Fans of the Transformers franchise have witnessed countless reimaginings and redesigns of the iconic Robots in Disguise – but one of the most exciting, stand-out reinterpretations of the Autobots and Decepticons was their steampunk reinterpretation, from 2006's Transformers: Hearts of Steel miniseries, which imagined what the massive alien robotic lifeforms would look like had they arrived on Earth in the 19th century, rather than the 20th.
10 Ratchet Given his role as the Autobots' Chief Medical Officer, it's only fitting for Ratchet to transform into a medical boxcar in this Industrial Revolution-inspired redesign. The boxcar exudes a robust and sturdy appearance, much like Ratchet himself, symbolizing the beacon of stability that the Autobot is among his peers.
7 Bumblebee Bumblebee has adopted various vehicle modes across different media platforms, but one thing has remained consistent: his vibrant yellow exterior and the enduring symbol of hope he represents, no matter the form he assumes. Bumblebee is a fan-favorite, as well as one of the most well-liked Autobots among his own kind. He’s small, but brave, and always seems to be in the middle of the action.
4 Optimus Prime Optimus Prime makes only a cameo appearance in the Transformers: Evolutions Hearts of Steel comic. Still, artist Guido Guidi delivers an epic concept design that transforms the Autobot leader from his classic semi-truck form into a colossal train. It's a fitting choice for the leader of the Autobots, given the significant role trains played in society during the Industrial Revolution.
