Todd Blanche 'Overpromised' in Opening Statement: Defense Attorney

Donald Trump's attorney Todd Blanche might have 'overpromised' in his opening statement of the former president's hush-money trial, a defense attorney has said.Speaking on the podcast Stay Tuned with Preet, defense attorney Ben Brafman said that Blanche might struggle to deliver on the sweeping claims he made.Trump is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in relation to a hush money payment made to adult film actor Stormy Daniels. Trump has pleaded not guilty.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office should never have brought this case,' he said.In the opening statement, Blanche denied that Trump ever had sex with Daniels.The prosecution seeks to prove that before the 2016 presidential election, Trump paid, or discussed paying, two women—adult film star Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal—not to disclose his alleged affairs with them. He denies affairs with either woman.
