Tiger owner arrested for allegedly leaving 350-pound cat caged in garage home

A Texas woman has been arrested after police say she left a 350-pound tiger -- which she claims is like"my child" -- in the garage of a friend's empty home in Houston.

"I'm willing to face the consequences, even though he's never been cruelly treated and he's always had food and water," Garza told ABC station KTRK-TV just before she was taken into custody.Police seized the tiger in February and took it to the Cleveland Armory Black Beauty Ranch, an animal sanctuary in Murchison, Texas.

Garza said she made arrangements for an animal sanctuary in College Station, Texas, to pick up the tiger. She said she stashed her peculiar pet in the garage of her friend's empty house, where it was to be picked up by workers for the animal sanctuary in February.

This is what happens when people want an 'exotic pet' to make themselves feel good. This is a crime against helpless animals.
