That message is certainly an optimistic one, considering most comprehensive kits for a family of four cost upwards of $250. I could splurge on such a fully-loaded go-bag, or I could DIY my own by piecing together items that are unique to my location and individual needs, whether that's medication or supplies for a baby or pet.
