Here are some of the prominent companies offering expanded assistance to staff — and, in some cases, their dependents — in states curtailing abortion care.

After the Supreme Court ruled on Friday to overturn Roe v. Wade, corporate giants from a range of industries pledged to provide support and financial assistance for employees — and, in some cases, their dependents — seeking abortions in states that outlaw the procedure.

Corporate America is increasingly being drawn from the political sidelines on the abortion issue in response to pressure from investors, customers and employees. NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesCindyLouWho_2 How generous of them. Maybe they could rethink all the donations (FOR DECADES) they've given to Republicans who stripped our rights this week. Stop tossing table scraps; stop supporting politicians who enact regressive policies. Private companies can go ahead and pay. No problem. Now, my tax dollars, big problem. 👏👏👏👏

What about all the women who don't work for them who have now lost access because of the politicians these companies helped elect?

And some States are choosing to go the route of the Fugitive Slave Act. Insane. Leave it to corporate America to take care of their primarily White, middle-class, birthing person employees. Good for them, now those same men & women (because according to you guys men can also get pregnant) can have access to future abortions largely for convenience sake.

How some companies plan to protect employees' access to abortions.“Our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees,' said a statement from Disney executives. JoyAnnReid Good. Those are not the people who need help. This is a performative gesture. Where does the 15 y.o. high school girl go? Where does the 12 y.o. raped by her grandfather go? I'm not throwing out hypotheticals, these are real stories around me. JoyAnnReid What these companies need to do is say they will stop funding politicians who support a theocracy & only support those who believe in democracy. I don’t want ANYONE’S religious beliefs in my government.
