EXCLUSIVE: Hayden Christensen tells us he's up for more DarthVader in Star Wars! I certainly would love to continue with this character, and I feel like there's more there to do.

Obi-Wan Kenobi star Hayden Christensen believes there's still more story to tell with Darth Vader. The iconic villain has been a mainstay in popular culture since his introduction in the original Star Wars movie, going on to appear in several other films, TV shows, video games, and books. Over the course of the past four decades, audiences have seen Vader evolve into a complex character, watching his rise, fall, and ultimate redemption unfold onscreen.

Considering how much of Vader's life has already been depicted in various Star Wars media, there seems to be very little ground left to cover. However, with how popular the character is, the allure of bringing him back will always be there unless Lucasfilm decides to fully move away from the Skywalker saga. As the studio continues to develop a number of movies and TV shows, some have expressed an interest in seeing a dedicated Vader spinoff show. Christensen himself would be up for it.

"I don't know. I can't answer that question. I certainly would love to continue with this character, and I feel like there's more there to do. But we'll see... In preparing for this, I did as much research as I could. And I got to read some of these Darth Vader comics, these standalone comics that just focus on Darth Vader, and [there's] some really interesting stuff there. I don't know. But yeah, I would love to get to do this again.

The key, as with any Star Wars project, is to find a worthwhile narrative to focus on. Vader works in Obi-Wan Kenobi because his role connects to Obi-Wan's personal trauma, and it feels like an organic continuation of the prequels with the Sith Lord ruthlessly hunting down his former master. Any future appearance would need to aim for something similar, adding to the mythos and fleshing out the character further.

For his part, Christensen isn't done with Star Wars just yet. He is reportedly reprising Anakin in the upcoming Ahsoka series, where he presumably will appear in flashbacks or as a Force ghost. Whether or not he plays Vader again remains to be seen. Unless he has a surprise appearance in this summer's Andor, there doesn't seem to be a natural spot for him in Lucasfilm's current lineup.
