According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, child-to-adult transmission “appears to be uncommon”

began spreading in January, parents everywhere were terrified. Respiratory bugs thrive in children; this one kills. But children infected with the new coronavirus have had mild symptoms or none at all and deaths have been rare, says a review of nearly 80 studies published on April 22nd by an international network of child-health experts.

But several studies now suggest that children are no more easily infected by covid-19 than adults, maybe less so. The most reliable ones have traced the contacts of infected people, tallying the infections in children and adults stemming from each “patient zero”. Two studies from China have just appeared in. One found similar infection rates; the other, in a different province, found that children were less susceptible.

These studies may miss infections in children who recover quickly. To catch all infections—and track when they ripple through each age group—requires frequent testing for both active infections and antibodies , says Andrew Lover of the University of Massachusetts. Antibody-tracking studies have begun in Germany, the Netherlands and elsewhere. The first round of the Dutch study, of more than 2,000 people, found that about 2% of those under 20 had been infected, against 4.2% of those over 20.

The economist also published a story that smokers are less likely to catch covid. Maybe we need to get the children smoking to protect them until a vaccine is available

Unless there is adequate testing, we don't need to risk their health and lives. notdying4wallstreet

who tweets for you 1st sentence is nonsensical, both re: words used & concept conveyed. As for article, dangerously ill-informed. AFAIK, always thought kids less likely to get COVID-19 (& be less sick). DANGER = asymptomatic kids passing to vulnerable adults.

Ok, all along the belief has been kids have less of a chance of becoming infected.

Sorry I missed the part where anyone credibly thought kids were more susceptible than other age groups. However children, from babies to teens, have died, so it's not not serious.

Online study is the solution, moreover attitude of teachers will not effect the students. As well if the student is able to done with lessons then he will be able to go a head with exams. Why to wait for others. Why going to toilet will take some of the tutorial will be lost.

Point to note it is very much possible

As opposed to moving from bats to humans and then to tigers in a new York zoo?

That’s been debunked.

Nice to see Bobby Hill getting some animated work again

this is the economist isnt it?! its amazing the level of ignorance about science after so much poverty and job loss, something doesnt add up in this social equation
