Virus rained grief on New York in April; will May be better?

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York’s schools and colleges will remain shut through the end of the academic year because of the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday.

“We don’t think it’s possible to do that in a way that would keep our children and students and educators safe, so we’re going to have the schools remain closed for the rest of the year, we’re going to continue the distance learning programs," Cuomo said.A decision about whether to allow summer school inside classroom buildings will be deferred until the end of May, he said. Whenever schools are allowed to reopen, each district's plan would need state approval.

Mayor Bill De Blasio announced April 11 that the city would rely on remote learning through the end of the school year. At the time, Cuomo dismissed De Blasio’s announcement as an “opinion,” saying the governor had the power to make decisions on a statewide basis. Cuomo made the announcement at his daily corovirus briefing, which also included updated fatality and infection numbers. Cuomo said 289 people died of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, on Thursday, down from 306 the day before.New York City will find a way to honor Colorado paramedic Paul Cary, who died of COVID-19 after traveling to New York to help battle the pandemic, De Blasio said.

New York's Cuomo calls politics 'hammer into the middle' of U.S. during pandemicNew York Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday that he was hearing the 'music of a campaign season' in Washington's response to the coronavirus pandemic, warning that partisanship could drive a 'hammer into the middle of this country.' Cuomo a freaking crybaby Well deserved criticism. Rick Scott is a few bricks shy of a full load. I just wonder who bought him his seat. He's not bright enough to be a Senator. Somebody wanted another sock puppet. Its called 'taxation without representation' Why should a fiscally responsible state bail out a state that is spending recklessly.. maybe wasting big 💲💲💲 on a new subway that never happened? Why should Americans that didn't vote for a particular Gov or mayor bail them out?

Yep How about a shovel with the word REALITY written on it? You can use it to smack idiots in the head (reality check) and then bury the dead of those other idiots who defied health and safety guidelines. Just putting it out there.
