The Woodlands responds, routs Tomball in Game 3 of regional quarters

The Woodlands had held a two-run lead earlier in the final inning, on the brink of an impressive sweep of a strong Cougars team following Thursday’s 2-0 Game 1 win. Ahead 1-0, the Highlanders broke the game open with an explosive sixth inning, scoring eight runs on eight hits. “You just have to tell yourself that winners win. We had to come back out here and play our game. We fought for one more day.”Junior lefthander Nolan Roycraft threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits, striking out four and walking one. Of his 80 pitches, 47 were strikes.
