The Woodlands will build four new trolley stops and renovate five others as it begins conducting a comprehensive analysis on its public transit system.

The board also approved $4,306,201 from the Federal Transit Administration's The Woodlands-Conroe Urbanized Area funding, which will pay for most of this project. Trolley ridership has fully recovered from a pandemic dip, township chief operations officer Chris Nunes said, while Woodlands Express ridership remains below 2019 levels.with about 50,000 riders per month. Nunes said flexible work schedules has created new demand times and made riders' schedules harder to track.
