Taking place from March 3-5, the tour will see the pair visit Dublin, County Meath, County Kildare and Galway to “learn about local organizations working to support and empower young people and projects which provide opportunities to help them develop important life skills,” according to the release. Plus, they’ll also learn more about the country’s “conservation initiatives and efforts to protects its environment, with a particular focus on sustainable farming and marine conservation.
They will also meet with government officials, including the President and Prime Minister , as well as various working professionals in the creative arts, business and charity sectors. Prior to that, in 2011 Queen Elizabeth made an historic visit to the country – making her the first British monarch to do so in 100 years. The official statement noted that the trip will “build on the theme of remembrance and reconciliation” and finished by saying, “The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to building a lasting friendship with the Irish people.
