So a good question for educators and policymakers to ask is, “What is the ultimate end of K-12?” Yes,.
If you agree that college or career readiness is the ultimate end of K-12, or at least one of its top three, then a valid question to ask is, how is Texas public education doing? In regions such as Dallas, Houston or San Antonio, only 19% succeed in earning a credential. This is the last mile of public education, which is worthy of our focus and administrative accountability.
