President Joe Biden delivered remarks from the White House Tuesday evening following the mass school shooting in Texas that has so far resulted in 20 confirmed deaths.
He asked the nation to pray for the families impacted by the deadly shooting and asked when the U.S. would"stand up to the gun lobby," listing other similar incidents in recent years like the Sandy Hook Elementary School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shootings. Biden said that he spent his career as a senator and vice president working to pass common sense gun laws, and while they can't prevent all tragedies,"we know they work and have a positive impact."
