A 15-year-old girl is hospitalized after she was shot in the head Friday night in Southwest Philadelphia , according to police.According to police, the teen arrived by private vehicle at the 12th Police District to report the incident shortly after the shooting.
Police said the teen had sustained a gunshot wound to the back of her head. She was transported to the hospital by police where she is listed in stable condition.Then, police said officers headed to the scene and found the suspect - Sharnay Lewis, 31, of Philadelphia - outside the residence. Police said Lewis was arrested without incident. Officers secured the property and obtained a search warrant.
According to police, investigators learned that Lewis and the teen were involved in a dispute. During the argument, Lewis produced a black firearm and fired at least one shot at the teen, who was seated inside a vehicle.Police said the bullet appears to have entered the rear windshield and traveled through the passenger-side headrest before striking the teen in the head.
