'I would be surprised if there was support in the Republican caucus if the bill comes out at $1.9 trillion, even if we're able to make some beneficial changes,' Maine Senator Susan Collins said on Tuesday.

While speaking with reporters, Collins said,"We are looking at amendments but they pretty much stalled. The administration has not indicated a willingness to come down from its $1.9 trillion figure and that's a major obstacle."

"We have indicated a willingness to come up from our $618 billion, but unfortunately the White House seems wedded to a figure that really can't be justified given the hundreds of billions of dollars that are still in the pipeline from the December bill," Collins said."And so what we're looking at now is whether there are changes that we could make. But I would be surprised if there was support in the Republican caucus if the bill comes out at $1.

Sen. Susan Collins speaks with reporters in the subway of the U.S. Capitol following a vote on February 23. Collins said,"The administration has not indicated a willingness to come down from its $1.9 trillion figure and that's a major obstacle.

If we were talking about $1.9 B for lobster fishermen she would be all in but not for the health and safety of ALL Americans. Same old from her!!!

Because GOP is never about giving back to those that pay taxes, business that line their pockets can have taxpayer money. Even the stimuli that has passed have been loaned against future tax refunds to pay it back for taxpayers

Not a surprise. GOP is always ready to cut taxes for the rich, a cost to everyone else, but I unwilling to spend what’s needed when most people need help the most.

TheePurity Fine. Do it. And don't be surprised if Manchin changes his mind at the last minute after reading some tweet that has him clutching his pearls and he decides to vote against it.

If you can't vote yes to help the average American, go home and be quiet.

I'm cool with that.

That’s fine as long as it is passed. Dems know that actions speak louder than words and words are all the Republicans have offered. Thoughts and prayers as usual from them.

can we get some reporting on the pork in this stimulus.
