Sunday will feature another chance of spotty to scattered showers and thunderstorms. An occasional severe storm is possible, but a bigger threat will be periods of heavy rain and potential areas of flooding. The heaviest round of rain and thunderstorms arrives through Sunday morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for all of North Texas, including Dallas and Fort Worth, until 1 p.m. Sunday. The most widespread heavy rainfall is expected south of I-20 and west of I-35.
Next week looks drier and hotter with high temperatures ranging from the lower-80s to the lower-90s. Heat index values could climb into the mid to upper-90s next Tuesday and Wednesday.A late spring cold front will knock highs into the 70s and lows into the upper-50s to lower-60s by Mother’s Day weekend. Partly cloudy with a 60% chance of showers and storms, mainly in the morning. High: 79. Wind: SE 5-10 mph. Partly cloudy, breezy and warm with a 20% chance of a shower and storm p.m. Low: 69.
