Michael Osika, of the 700 block of Moraine Street, died Saturday at the University of Chicago Medical Center as a result of his injuries from the accident at Cleveland-Cliffs’s Indiana Harbor facility, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was 44.
“Cleveland-Cliffs expresses its deepest sympathies to the employee’s family, and the Company will provide the necessary support to the family during this difficult time,” Persico said in the statement.United Steelworkers Union District 7 Director Mike Millsap didn’t return a call for comment.
