Thirty-two black granite panels adorn the memorial, engraved with the names of 836 peace officers going back to 1832."The thin blue line that connects our work—wherever that work is done—connects our hearts too," said Yost. "To all of you, I offer this thought. Your loved one's life meant more, had a greater impact, is a greater legacy than many who carry on for decades longer."
