CAIR-Ohio,Protests,Graduation

The Ohio chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) said it plans to host a peaceful event on OSU's campus Friday.

FILE -- Tensions escalated when law-enforcement officers moved in to disburse a Pro-Palestine encampment on the Ohio State University's campus. 41 people were arrested on criminal trespassing charges. April 25, 2024 The CAIR-Ohio chapter said the event is in response to the "recent attacks targeting students and community members while peacefully praying on the campus oval.

In a letter sent to students and staff Monday, OSU President Ted Carter echoed the same message concerning graduation: CAIR-Ohio Outreach Director Victoria Hickcox said in a statement that Muslim students are not just feeling unsafe on campus, but they are being actively criminalized.
